With the Electoral Commission the MCB is encouraging British Muslims to vote in the local elections in May 2007.
General Election 2005
In the run-up to the General Election 2005, the Public Affairs
Committee spearheaded MCB's drive to connect British Muslim voters to
politicians and influence the debate. The Committee published
Electing to Deliver:Working towards a representative Britain. The document aimed was aimed to be a positive and detailed contribution to our national policy conversation.
The Committee also launched the MCB Vote Card, a tool for British Muslim voters to raise concerns to their prospective parliamentary candidate.
Finally, the Committee maintained www.mcb.org.uk/vote2005
as a resource for the community. It contained constituency profiles and
political party responses to British Muslim issues.
