A national forum for British Muslims to come
together and seek a positive future for the community

The Muslim Council of Britain's Annual Convention will bring together activists, organisers, scholars and entrepreneurs to share experiences and visions for our community.

Drawing from the perspectives of a diverse range of figures, this Convention will aim to look beyond the narrow agendas set by others.

Workshops
This will be an interactive, grassroots led event. The Convention will include the following workshops that will examine and help address the following specific
issues:

  • Halal and Hilal?
    Common standards for the community
  • Mosques and young people
    Improving access for the next generation
  • Civic and political engagement
    Identity politics and the Muslim vote
  • Muslims and the Media
    How should Muslims positively engage with the media
    In Conjunction with The Cordoba Foundation

Annual General Meeting
11am - 2.15pm, 6th June, 2009

The Muslim Council of Britain will also hold its 12th Annual General Meeting on the morning of the 6th June. The MCB is a democratic umbrella body.

The AGM will be an opportunity for MCB’s 500 affiliated organisations to have a say and feedback its thoughts to the elected leadership.
