Intensive Course on Muslim Healthcare Chaplaincy

A 3 day intensive training course will be held in London from 28th April to 1st May 2008 to offer opportunity to Muslims who wishes to take up healthcare chaplaincy as a profession. The course will enable the participants to acquire appropriate knowledge and skills as well as benefit from the experiences of people already in the profession.

The NHS now recognises the need to employ Muslim chaplains and the number of chaplains in paid employment is gradually increasing. However, appropriate training is essential to qualify for such employment.

This three-day Intensive Course on Muslim Healthcare Chaplaincy has been organised by the Muslim Council of Britain. The programme consists of a comprehensive list of subjects delivered by a distinguished panel of Muslim and non-Muslim experts who have wide experience and expertise in aspects relating to chaplaincy and spiritual care. Course is designed to benefit all – both aspiring and existing chaplains. A certificate of attendance will be issued to all successful participants.

Fees: £300.00 for 3-day residential course. All meals and accommodation included, however participants will be required to bring their own bed linen as this is a camping site and beds are provided with mattresses only. Participants are also required to arrange their own transport. A limited number of bursaries will be considered for aspiring chaplains.
