Robbed of childhood, a response from Bashir Mann
21st May 2006
Your headline Robbed of childhood (19 May) was horrifying indeed. However, the statements of the first Minister and some other politicians expressing their concern at the results of the Heralds investigations are sheer hypocrisy. These politicians through certain elements of sex education in schools are motivating the young innocent children to indulge in premature sex that is resulting in teenage pregnancies.
As if that were not enough gay sex education is also being added to the sex curriculum in schools. This will encourage experiments of homosexuality among young children and add to the growing creed of homosexuality. Again, these politicians are encouraging the breakdown of family units by introducing legislation legalising the civil partnerships, homosexuality and the same sex partnerships. There is also talk of legalising certain drugs and if our politicians succumb to that it would certainly add to the ever growing number of drug addicts.
All this deviation from the traditional morality is destroying the institution of marriage, decimating the fabric of the family unit and leading to poor and irresponsible parenting. Family unit is the rock on which society and the civilisation stand. Without the family unit there would be no society and no civilisation. We all must be concerned about this state of affairs and take serious notice of it before it is too late.
