Le McKinstry's reference, from Inayat Bunglawala
10th April 2006
Your columnist, Leo McKinstry (Daily Express, 10th April 2006), referring to the four British Muslims who carried out last Julys bombings in London, seems angered that there has not been more indignation at the Muslim communities which fostered these savage killers.
Could this be because most normal people with a sense of justice do not hold entire communities as being somehow collectively responsible for the actions of a few amongst them?
While many people have been trying hard to ensure that extremists do not succeed in further polarising our communities, there are some such as the far right BNP - who are naturally keen to do so. It is a shame that the Daily Express allows itself to be used for the same divisive purpose. Yours faithfully,
Mr Inayat Bunglawala,
The Muslim Council of Britain
