I am A Muslim
& I Give Blood - Young Planners Campaign
14th June marks World Blood Donor Day
and the MCB is urging all Muslims to donate blood. Young Planners, a youth led initiative,
have set up a campaign entitled ‘I am a Muslim and I Give Blood’ in a potentially
life-saving partnership with the NHS.

have unpleasant images in their minds. Both are worrying results of
Young Planners are conducting the blood
awareness campaign, aimed at Muslims in London, which should rightfully begin
to erode these misconceptions. The MCB is fully supporting this campaign and
urge all Muslims to participate.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of
the importance of blood donation by rallying Muslims to donate blood on the day
or at least sign up to the blood Donor Register and give blood to save lives.
Donating need not mean £ signs, just as
the term Muslim need not reflect anything devoid of humanity.
Most Muslims in London are from minority
groups, so the campaign is more pertinent to meeting the urgent need for
donations from these groups, as there are significantly less people from them
This campaign is groundbreaking and will
be wholly transformative in helping Muslims unite for a cause at the heart of the
'community' – Saving Lives!
