| `Go away rain .You have spoilt my beautiful reflection. Go away and never come back.' |
This book is about a hippo called Hilmy who learns about vanity. It is about Hilmy following a bird into a forest where he finds a clear pool where he sees his reflection. He returns to this pool day after day to admire himself in it. One day, it starts to pour down with rain which makes him angry because he can't see his reflection any more. Then he says, `Go away rain .You have spoilt my beautiful reflection. Go away and never come back.' Hilmy went back home to his water hole and on his way he met a number of animals including Giant the elephant who explained why rain is so important. Then Hilmy realised how wrong he had been and said, `I will never be vain again'. Hilmy also learned from Giant that all animals are beautiful from the very smallest to the very biggest.
