| During this holy month, we invite you to share with us your thoughts of inspiration. |
It is during times like this blessed month of Ramadan that it becomes easier to do good and behave in a far better way. Many of us, throughout the year may feel a little lazy about praying, giving charity and fasting, or making a special effort to improve ourselves in Ramadan. It also makes us feel good to be part of a global community of Muslims who are fasting in this special month.
Young and old, rich and poor, year in year out, we experience the delight of celebrating this holy month in our actions, words, gestures and, above all, by fasting purely to gain the pleasure of God.
We have received many positive and inspiring contributions from young people on the topic of Ramadan. Some of the pieces sent in were so good that we have decided to run a Ramadan Corner Competition. We hope that many others will be encouraged to share their thoughts about what makes Ramadan and Eid special and also at the same time have a chance to win a fantastic prize!
We would like to hear from all our young writers (aged between 5-16 years) as we know that many of you are very talented. From poetry to a simple diary of activities for Ramadan, your entry can take any form you chose, but it must be about Ramadan or Eid.
Below are a selection of the pieces that have been sent in to give you an idea of the contributions you can make. All you need to do is download the entry form under the 'Internal Links' (to the top-right of this page), fill it in with your personal details and send your piece and send it to us at

Shortly before the end of Ramadan, all entries will be judged as to which are most inspiring and the best three entries will win a great prize. Prizes are as follows:
- Two tickets to this year's Eid extravaganza organised by ISB: (Click here for details)
- Runner up will get two tickets to Celebrate Eid organised by MAB (Click her for details)
- £15 book voucher
Readers will also be able to select their favourites by voting for entries using the poll.
