On Sunday 8th August, The Muslim Council of Britain's Youth Committee hosted its second National Muslim Youth Conference in Manchester.
The conference which attracted delegates from leading youth groups and members of youth projects across the UK discussed some pressing issues confront young Muslims today.
Workshops with expert panelists focused on 'Mosques & Young People', Disability in the Muslim Community', 'Business and Entrepreneurship' and 'Youth Work: Participation & Collaboration'.
Co-ordinating the conference, the Youth Committees' Yorkshire & Humber Representative Mohammed Omran and North West Representative Ruji Surjan said `The sheer enthusiasm of young Muslims in the face of challenges being met will undoubtedly push forward the agenda for further active engagement and improvement. The ideas we observed have been inspiring and sincere, and we look forward to working on these over the next year."
The MCB's Youth Committee will be producing a report of the Conference shortly.
The Muslim Council of Britain is the UK's largest Muslim umbrella body with around 500 affiliated national, regional and local organisations, mosques, charities and schools.
