Books for Schools is an educational initiative that aims to make available high quality Key Stage linked RE resources to better facilitate the teaching of Islam in schools. Developed in response to numerous requests from teachers, our resources will introduce children to the basic beliefs and teachings of Islam and help fill a major void in tailor made resources. By providing children with an authentic understanding of Islam, we hope to promote better harmony and respect amongst Britain's diverse communities.
How can this resource facilitate the teaching of Islam in RE?
- Our materials have been designed by educationalists and teachers with reference to the RE Non Statutory Framework (QCA).
- Linking with Key Stages 1 and 2, these aim to enhance children's experience of diversity in all areas of the curriculum through enjoyable, cross-curricular based work.
- This self-contained resource pack provides teachers with all the materials needed to teach about basic Muslim beliefs, pillars and practices through four original, engaging and interactive class/small group projects.
