Joint letter to Daily Telegraph with Schechita UK

The Muslim Council of Britain collaborated with Shechita UK in writing a letter to the Daily telegraph to explain the need of better labelling of food, so that consumers are better informed of what they are purchasing.

Concerns with lack of transparency

The Daily Telegraph wrote an article about the concerns around Pizza Express, quoting the letter to express the views of the Jewish and Muslim communities on the lack of transparency of food outlets. BBC also wrote an article about the traditions of Jewish and Islamic slaughtering and the issues with the lack of clarity in labelling. The article speaks about the laws in place regarding the slaughtering of animals, and the government views along with the views of the Jewish and Muslim communities, quoting the letter written to the Daily Telegraph.
