Your TV reviewer Jenni Frazer lauded John Ware's Panorama programme, A Question of Leadership, (JC, Aug 26) saying:

"At least it was comforting to hear young Muslims at the end of the programme declaring that the MCB no longer represented them."

Actually, the Panorama programme showed no such thing. Indeed, the very next day following the Panorama broadcast we received an email from Abu Muntasir, who was prominently featured at the end of the Ware documentary, saying that he was proud of the Muslim Council of Britain and asked us to send him the MCB affiliation forms so he could register his national organisation, JIMAS, with us.

Indeed, in the words of Sunny Hundal - editor of the Asians in Media website - John Ware's Panorama team "failed spectacularly" in their dishonest attempt to present the MCB as an extremist organisation.

The Muslim Council of Britain stands always ready to work with all communities for the sake of the common good and to fight extremism from all quarters.
