The Muslim Council of Britain held its National Council meeting on 13 May 2017
The National Council is the highest decision making meeting body of the MCB. The Council issued the following resolutions:
- The National Council re-affirmed its commitment to active participation in the UK political process.
- The Council re-adopted the MCB’s 2015 ‘Fairness not Favours’ election document as a manifesto detailing many of the concerns of Muslim communities.
- The Council resolved to encourage Muslim communities across the UK to;
a) Register to vote
b) To lobby local parliamentary candidates to adopt pledges sent out by the MCB
C) To encourage Muslims to vote.
