Ramadan in Britain | Ramadan Events in the UK | Islam & Muslims in the UK

There are some 1.5 million Muslims in Britain. Many will be observing the fast from dawn until sunset. Many will end the day with a meal before going off to the Mosque for evening prayers.

Ramadan Diary
“One of the things I love about Ramadan is how much people look forward to it. I am always thrilled by the enthusiasm that Muslims have for it – calling one another up to congratulate each other on the months’ arrival. This is one of the powers of this time – it truly is a unifying experience. Even the children get involved. Obviously small children can’t fast but they like to get into the atmosphere and we personally try and encourage this with our three in many ways.”

I enjoy fasting because I get excited about what I can eat towards the end of my fast!
Thirteen-year-old Usman Hussain from Middlesbrough explains how he fasts at school and what he enjoys about Ramadan.
