I'm writing as a Christian to assure you of friendship, and that there will be countless Christians feeling as I do.

Those few who wish to make some kind of issue out of the attack on America will do so, of course -- Christianity has its own fanatics, and there are always going to be those in any culture who will attach a religious label to some other motivation in an attempt to give it spurious respectability.
We Christians have no room for complacency on that count. I believe we and you would share the view that the God whom both our faith communities worship is a God of love, truth, justice and peace who will never give his blessing to acts such as these

Our prayers, when I lead worship on Sunday, will be for all who are affected by this atrocity - including the faithful Muslim community around the world that is sharing the pain.
Peace

I believe that I saw a representative of your organisation this morning on GMTV and understand that hate mail is being directed at muslims in the U.K.

I deplore the 'tarring' of all Islam with the brush of evil terrorism. I am a white British citizen who has no religious faith but apologise for any foolish people who might look like me who jump to conclusions and blame innocent parties for the wrongs of others. I wanted to send this letter in a spirit of peace and reconcilliation while deploring institutional violence of western democratic states and the blood feud that might result from any horrific violent event.

I have been horrified by the events of recent days but have feelings of repugnance towards prejudiced reactions.

I felt that I had to write to convey my very great sadness at hearing that you have received "hate mail" through your website following the attacks on world trade centre and the pentagon.

I am a Christian, who has lived in Birmingham and now find myself in Coventry and I respect the deeply held faiths of others. I have always felt honoured to live in a country with such a diversity of cultures and with a history of tolerance. Let us hold fast to the things which unite us rather than looking for those which divide us and let us not allow the mindless act of terrorists to destroy and separate.
I shall continue to pray to God our Father, not only for the victims of the attacks but for the Muslim community at this most difficult time.
May God bless you all.

Friends, I pray and hope upon hope that the world realises that 99.9% of the Muslim faith is good in their hearts and minds, it is in the main a peaceful religion that has itself suffered persecution over many centuries.
I am a Christian and NO Christian wants revenge for the sake of revenge and not upon those peaceful and good Muslims of the world. But we are in the "Blame" culture and are too fast to point the finger of scorn at those we find it difficult to understand, especially those of other, some may say more radical beliefs.
But even the Christians have done some heinous crimes against your peoples, history shows this as it does against our own in Ireland. We have short memories and even shorter fuses.
Terrorism, no matter where it comes from must be seen to be the way of evil and in no right persons mind the way forward to a more peaceful and tolerant world. We have to understand one another and find out what we have to offer one another, especially in times like this.

As the Prime Minister of Great Britain said during the election, "Education Education Education", this has to be the way we must peruse and work towards for a better future for all, no matter what colour, class, creed, or social standing. Of course the perpetrators have to be brought to task , then to be tried in a court of law for their actions and if found guilty and the appropriate sentence handed down, to them all!! But to blame a religion for the actions of a few is insane, again I pray that those right minded in society today will be those who can save us from the mass hysteria of the media and those bent on revenge for the sake of revenge, will prevail and "Common Sense" will rule the day.

Since Tuesday all of the world has to be seen to be both calm and meticulous in their approach to where we go from here. No one is perfect, except those deities we believe to be our "Fathers in Heaven", those who set the laws for our religions so long ago. For those who still believe are those who will be seen as the leaders that will bring US all forward into a better and peaceful life together, from now and for eternity.
We must now pray for all those who lost their lives to horrifically and those who have been left grieving, to give the support where and when we can, to all those effected by this terrible act.
I pray for US ALL

To whom it may concern at the MCB, I watched a representative of yours on television this morning, defending Islam's tenets and condemning the terrorist attacks in America. He claimed that mainstream Islam does not by any standard condone killing in the name of Allah. I have a couple of questions in response to his statements. First, is it not true that Islam, since its inception, has used crusades as a mechanism for conversion and that infidels, or those unwilling to convert,

were slaughtered? Didn't Mohamed and his followers kill people during the Hajira from Medina to Mecca? Haven't countless people been killed in the name of Islam during its centuries of existence, including deaths committed by "mainstream" Muslims? What about the fatwah against Jews, proclaimed by numerous Muslim clerics, against Jews and Israelis? How do you explain this?

Please do not dismiss this message. I would very much like an answer. A concerned member of the public.
