Well Done to all of you at the MCB - you do a fantastic job although you get(unfairly) criticised many times. I just thought I would send you some words of encouragment to let you know moderate Muslims do exist who love their faith and are sick to death of extremists trying to hijack it. May God guide us all to the right path and help us in ur endeavours.

Dear MCB,

I am muslem and arab and my name is faisal. It's my first time to write to you and it is also the first time to know about this website. i am a business graduate and looking forward to complete my studys in us or uk. I am very happy to discover this website because always i was looking for something like this. why? because peolple around the world has a wrong idea of islam. They think that islam is everything bad. To be honest with you sometimes they are right you no why because we are muslems specialy (arabs) we don't act in a islam way through our life. How? we treat people wrongly and we don't respect poor people and we spend our money in things that islam didn't allow like women and alcohol.
I am very sorry to tell that but because i am a muslem i want to change the other people idea about islam. Islam is the religion of respect, mercy even mercy for animals before human being, respecting other religions, helping each other, give money to poor people all around the world, honesty and much more of good things. Our religion is logic. It talks to to the mind of the people and gives reasons for everything. I want to say to those who think that we are bad (people if you want to know islam read the quran itself not observing some today muslems behaviours).
I want to help in this issue because islam is the only right religion in this world. I hope you can understand my english and sorry for any spelling or grammer mistakes.

I would like to offer my support to MCB's position on the people (people, not non-people) being held by the USA. They are either prisoners of war (and to be held according tot he Geeneva Convention) or they are suspects in a criminal investigation (to be held according to the US Constitution) or under the jurisdiction of an internnational court).
It is hypocrisy for the US and the UK to claim a high moral purpose for the war aganist Afghanistan and then treat these people with such disregard for international law. Keith Trivasse (Churchj of England parishes of St paula dn Christ the King, Bury)

I applaud hearing more and more Muslims condemn the extremist element within the Islamic religion. I still find it alarming however that nothing seems to be done about those Mosques who teach such extreme beliefs. On the news today I hear of the discovery of the Training Video showing gruesome tortures by Islamic Fundamentalists, which is being used to recruit new members from this country. Surely there is something you can do that can stop completely this extremist element in society such as expel the leaders, encourage your worshippers to cooperate with Police and point out who they are, as well as shut down the Mosques where this appraisal of murder is being preached. As you are well aware we live in an extremely politically correct society which more often than not prevents proper law and order amongst multiracial communities. If you were to take a stronger line against extremists yourself, rather than just announce condemnation in a press release, stronger bonds will be formed between British people of all races and backgrounds and prevent the paranoid mood that seems to prevail and sometimes shows itself in ugly scenes on our streets.

I am a non-Muslim but I am interested in Islam at both a personal and an academic level. I often look at your web site and I would like to congratulate you on your press releases. They are always very well expressed and well written. I am in complete agreement with the stand you have taken both on "Holocaust Day" and on the treatment of suspected terrorists in Guantanamo Bay.
