As salam aliakam
after visiting your site for the first time, I was slightly confused as to
whos side you guys where on.
we know u rub shoulders with the high and mighty and attend their tea
parties, sign their fatawa and basically suck up to them to apparently
'represent' the Muslims in the UK but I am asking you Who's actual side
are
you.
Please can you tell me as I could not decide after reading your site.

Do all muslims hate the British, and the British way of life, why do muslims come to Britain if they do not like western society. Do muslims want to provoke British people to sectarian violence.

| Dear Iqbal AKM Sacranie,
Thank you for your invitation to this event. I would be pleased to attend.
I would also like to raise the point of the plight of all the Buddhists in
the sub-continent. The polarisation into Muslim and Hindu completely
ignores the historical and contemporary facts of the Buddhists in all these
areas. Buddhists did not get a homeland on parition and many communities
were split and destroyed, for example in the Chittagong hills.
Kashmir is another example. Afghanistan was a Buddhist country for a
thousand years. There were many Buddhists in the areas now called Pakistan
and Bangladesh.
In the mother country of religion the mother should care for all her
children, even the quiet ones. The Constitution of India was written by a former 'Untouchable' who saw in
Buddhism a tolerant way which rose above caste and concentrated on the
plight of all the people.
The Dalai Lama of Tibet has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his
non-violent efforts to resolve the invasion of his country. It is artifical
borders created by politicans that have fuelled most of the conflict over
the past hundred years. And will continue to do so. The 'best' solution
that is being offered for Israel and Palestine is yet another border,
creating more of the 'us and them' rather than the 'we' mentality.

Tim Dear Sir,
With reference to the action of the police detaining Afghan
refugees/asylum seekers facing a deportation order, you must understand that irrespective of their religion, they were in the country illegally.
Harbouring such people does not help them, and the police had to act
accordingly. It is unfortunate that so many people are fleeing Muslim
countries because of unrest, war and unfair treatment, but you have to
consider that the UK is an island, with limited resources. Rather than encouraging people to come to the UK, you should be helping them in their home countries, and trying to overthrow the Muslim extremists that inflict
suffering on these people.
I hope that the family who were arrested will find safety in Germany, and that such events do not happen again.
Sincerely
Tim

With the west ever determined to go to war on Iraq, myself and other Muslims in Britain urge bodies like your self and others to use their authority and influence on the British government to stop this attack on Islam, as our representatives to the government we hope you can convey our message to the officials and may Allah aid you in this.
Jazakallah

I'm sorry to say that due to recent actions [Pig heads dumped outside a mosque in Exeter] taken by some miss guided individuals of the muslim faith that events like this will become commonplace.

Dear friends,
With the current world political situation I am very concerned that
minorities and especially Christian minorities will be under even further
pressure in Islamic majority lands. The Western press and Western
politicians are very reluctant to ackowledge the isssue of persecution and
discrimination against minorities (especially Christian) in Islamic lands for fear of
causing offence or undermining their political objectives.
I fear that if the situation re: Iraq further deteriorates Christians in countries like
Pakistan, Sudan, Iran, Indonesia, and ex pat workers in Saudi Arabia will
pay a heavy price. Having visited some of these countries I know how difficult
life can be for the minorities and during political upheaval its even
worse.
Whilst I fully recognise that Muslims in Britain continue to face
challenges, problems and discrimination as a minority I would respectfully ask that
organisations like MCB rise above the moral indifference of our
politicians and appeal to their Muslim brothers direct to protect the rights of
minorities in Islamic countries and that they be allowed to practice their
religion in freedom and peace.
Yours respectfully
Brendan Bassett
