| Dear MCB,
I read with dismay the growing reports of worldwide violent behaviour of
Muslim extremists, also the recent raid on a mosque in London where
\'weapons\' were found.
I am worried that Muslims will be tarnished with a reputation which is
against their beliefs. What is your organisation doing to correct the
actions of extremists, and what are you doing to have such extremists
expelled from the UK, to prevent terrorist attacks in our cities.
Sincerely

| Dear Sir,
As a local resident I have been appalled by the events in Finsbury in the past 24 hours. From what I have seen on various news programmes so far, it would certainly appear to be beyond any doubt that illegal activities have been going on at Finsbury Mosque for a very long time. Channel 4 news had some interesting footage from hidden cameras, talking to a number of people staying in the mosque selling passports, false documents etc. And now this raid uncovering weapons and allegedley linked to the Ricin plot.
Your Press Release from yesterday 20th January makes a very good point in that "the free publicity handed over to such individuals contribute towards feeding Islamophobia".
I believe you are correct. I worry that incidents like this could eventually lead to violence on the streets of London between groups who have been influenced by media hysteria.
I cannot help but feel that the MCB should publicly denounce the acitvities taking place inside the Finsbury Mosque and take whatever measures to prevent places of worship from being abused by these individuals. The media contribute to Islamophobia, but then, so do the criminal elements within.
Kind Regards

| Dear friends,
I have been following the story of the raid on Finsbury Park Mosque
carefully. It is obviously a major place of worship in the area. I am
however
confused about how it is run, some Muslims have been saying that Abu Hamza
has a minor role there and desribed him as little more than the
'caretaker'.
Others state that he is the leading cleric and preacher there - what is
the
truth? Abu Hamza is undoubtedly a man full of racist hate, he gives
Muslims a
bad name and he attracts a dangerous element to the mosque, so why dont
the
adminstrators just kick him out and send a clear message?
Yours confused!

I read the article by Inayat Bunglawala published in today's telegraph and
was thoroughly impressed by the logic of his arguments and his measured
approach to recent events. I just wanted to express my support for the work
of the Muslim Council of Great Britain in tackling prejudice and extremism
of all forms.
I am not a muslim but have studied the Koran and have great respect for the
millions of moderate and reasonable people who combine faith in Islamic
teachings and active British citizenship.
Is there a forum where politically active supporters of your aims from
outside the Muslim community can find out how we can be of assistance in
encouraging the aims of moderate organisations such as the MCB and
discouraging all forms of racism and intolerance directed towards Britain's
Muslims?

Reading the racial abuse on your website makes me feel sick and I hope
that
you still believe that not all so-called Westerners hate Islam.
Please do not let these people fuel yout fear and hatred. They are a very
small, uninformed and unenlightened minority.
I am a Christian but I believe you have as much right to practise your
faith
as I do. I would never pass judgement on Islam, which is something I know
nothing about.
Terrible things have been done in the name of Christianity. It is what
people do in the name of religion not the religion itself that causes the
problems.
I was upset to read in my local paper that two Muslim women were attacked
in
a supermarket and their hajib was pulled off. This is horrendous behaviour
that makes me ashamed to be British.
I honestly believe that our communities can live peacefully together and I
pray for the day that comes about.
