Just watched GMTV and heard the Muslim Council is receiving hate mail -
just to add my support to the vast majority of the Muslim people living in the UK and beyond who do not support the terrorism. Perhaps it is time for all UK citizens to remember the hatred of rasicm is in every way as evil as the hatred of terrorism. I sincerely hope you disregard these comments as the views of the ignorant minority.

I would just like to express my utter condemnation of the unworthy comments of some people who think that they can somehow equate race and religion with terrorism. That they claim to speak for some kind of "white race" or "Christian faith" fills me with sorrow, and I would like you to know that not only do they not speak for me personally, that they do not speak for the huge majority of people I know - and that is essentially a white secular/christian group of people.

This is a time - more than any other - when people of all brotherhoods and creeds should be uniting. By espousing ill-informed, divisive sentiments, and advocating open warfare against the innocent instead of directing it against the culpable, they are contributing to an atmosphere in which human history may take another horrible lurch away from common humanity towards suspicion and the horrors of war.

I implore all people who - no doubt filled with understandable anger - are directing their opprobrium at those who deserve it least, to try, however hard it may seem, to reign in their emotions. If anyone thinks that any good will come from attacking innocent Muslims in Britain, then it only serves to highlight your own horrendous ignorance, and the hatred that festers unchecked in your own hearts.

You have my wholehearted support in your condemnation of the terrorist acts.

As a British Christian, I have been horrified to hear of the possibilities of attacks on law abiding Muslems in the wake of the terrorist attacks in the USA on the 11th.

I hope & pray that any fears British Muslems may have shall prove groundless.
I know you have had \'hate\' mail from many, either misguided or racially prejudiced individuals and it is has been distressing to hear that anyone should be subjected to that. And, also, that racists groups within society our using this weeks tragic events to their own political ends.

For my own part, I have been at pains to reassure Muslem neighbours and work colleagues that that such racist sentiments are not the view of the majority of non~Muslems.

'Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of rightiousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven' (The Holy Bible: Mathew, Chapter 5: verse 8)
With prayers for our trouble World

I, like everyone, am sickened, saddened and angered by the barbaric attack on innocent people in New York and Washington, but I can't believe that so many people are being so ignorant, as to be venting all their anger to the Muslim people as a whole.

Reading the emails, many people are talking about what "YOU" have done, and the word YOU is used many times, as if this act has been carried out by all Muslims, when in fact it is a few sick people, who cannot be linked to the Muslim people as a whole, and instead should be inked to the Mass murdering fundamentalists who we know carry out things like this, and governments that support them, REGARDLESS of their religion.

The word religion shouldn't even be linked with acts like this, these are people that take a religion which has been followed peacefully for centuries, and completely distort it, and use it as an excuse to carry out the evil that they feel compelled to carry out, not because it is in their religion, but because they are sick, evil INDIVIDUALS.

With all the innocent lives lost to the IRA, no-one see's the whole of the Irish people as to blame for these actions, mainly because this is closer to home and we have a greater understanding.

People make these blanket statements about the Muslim people being evil, and even sick comments about how we should retaliate by killing innocent Muslims, because they lack understanding, and speak without thinking, or without knowing any facts whatsoever.

I would suggest that people surf the Internet for information on Islam, the history of the people, the history of the religion and what it actually stands for, to develop at least a basic knowledge before they say, or write anything!

I believe we should take extremley strong action, aimed at the individuals who were behind this, and also those governments and organisations which help to fund these people, and who agree with these terrible acts, but if we even contemplate attacking large area's, where innocent people will be killed, then we have no more regard for the sanctity of human life, than do the evil terrorists that carried this out!
