You may well express total condemnation of these terrorist attacks but what practical, financial assistance are you going to offer NATO to help catch Bin Laden.

Are you going to ask your members to sign petitions to be sent to Afghanistan, Pakistan, will you be sending representatives to these countries? Will you be offering every possible assistance to the CIA, and British security forces and many other types of tangible direct action, to show real solidarity, and help eliminate Islamic fundamentalist terrorism?

It seems to me that Islam can spawn these fanatics to a much greater degree than any other religion. It is also has the ability to be uncompassionate, unforgiving and cruel, as witnessed by it's application in practical terms in Saudi Arabia i.e. hanging, flogging, supression of women, hatred of gay people.

Is it any wonder that people have an antipathy to Islam.

I was appalled to hear that hate emails had been posted on your site by non muslims. I hope you know, that the actions of these people does not reflect the way in which the majority of people in the UK think about muslims. I am afraid racists will find any excuse to ply their revolting trade. I lived for many years in Birmingham and know muslims to be peacful good people who are just trying to get on with their lives, like the rest of us. I find the demonisation of muslims in some areas of the media to be distasteful to say the least. I found the pictures on TV news this morning of a young muslim woman distancing herself from her faith (for fear of attacks) saddening,no one should have to distance themselves from their faith (whatever it may be) for their personal safety. What kind of country are we living in where people have to do this? I hope and pray that muslims will be left in peace by racists in the aftermath of the events in the US.
Faith Martin.

It's not often that I'm moved to put into writing my emotions, however hearing the abuse that your communities are subsequently being exposed to as a follow on from the events in the USA.

I would like to express my profound sorry at the recent mindless acts being committed against your communities. I do not count myself as a religious individual, rather a being of this planet, nor do I see differences in colour or creed.

Hopefully these moments will pass, after all today and tomorrow is just a thread in the fabric of time. Please realise that the vast majority of individuals do not support the actions being committed against, not just your communities but also other Moslem communities in other countries.

Like many people I was sad to see the response by certain muslims in celebrating the terrorist attack on the US & comments made by 'educated' muslims in the UK with a similar undertone. I'm equally appalled by the racist attacks, verbal & otherwise made against muslims generally.

I am certain however the majority of muslims are appalled by events & condemn the actions of the extremists involved in the attacks. It is important that the MCB send out the message clearly that you do not support terrorism & condemn outright recent events.

We can only live & work together if we stand together against evil from whatever direction it comes & regardless of the religious or political guise it presents itself in.

Peace & justice to all.

I have just been reading some of the Emails sent to you by people of this country. It makes me ashamed to be part of that community. Please note this is not the views of the whole country, I for one am sickened by it. I can't believe people are being persecuted because of their religion. It is not as though any 'white' english people have not committed crimes just as evil as this, look no further than the killer involved in the murder of so many young children in Scotland, or the Yorkshire ripper. All communities and races have their evil people, you are not alone there. Once again, please accept my appologies for this disgraceful behaviour, and good wishes to you all.
