Emails to the MCB on issues and events since Sept 11

|I know you have already received many supportive emails but please bear
comments in mind.
In Nazi Germany in the 1930's his was exactly the same attitude that was
propogated against the Jews and look how that turned out. He is now
rubbish about free speech, where does he think one can draw the line on
what one can say then? Is there no line and can people say whatever they like
without considering the consequence that they may seriously hurt peoples
sensitivities or worse still have the knock on effect of giving others the
idea that it's ok to mock people of other ethnic origins? Does his
'rights to free speech' extend to the school playground allowing children to
verbally mock muslim children calling them.... well, I don't want to say
what I can can't allow myself to imagine. Please please please don't give
up on this case and do it without getting into a slanging match with Silk
and others of his ilk. Do it with sensitivity, through the CRE, stating
reasonable arguments etc, even stating you respect his freedom of speech
stating how far does freedom of speech go? His comments are now all over
the media and have now spread even further than that racist rag the
Laurence of Arabia was one of the greatest British heroes ever and I
wonder what he would have said about this. Kilroy is utterly and totally
wrong, organise your protests so that it makes him dig his own hole deeper
and deeper still, so that he looks more and more foolish, that way people
will turn away from him.
No way would he have been allowed to say what he said about the Jews.
Anyway, what he says about 'Arabs' not contributing to the world is total
rubbish anyway. What has the USA contributed to the world? Well, for
starters more pollution than any other nation in the history of mankind
they are refusing to stop while all around them scientists are saying that
if we don't drastically reduce carbon emmisions and start reducing them
the world is going to change for the worse. I think statistics show that
the USA is responsible for nearly half of the world's carbon emissions.
Most other nations have dommitted to reduction, but not the USA. So, in
years time (your children and grandchildren's lifetime) they will be more
responsible than anyone else for the destruction and extinction of
of species of life.
I have said more than I intended, sorry to have taken up your time. Don't
let this 'man' get away with what he has done. Free speech in this
should not apply to insulting other people like he has done, and in
particular, broadcasting it in a newspaper. The Nazi's did the same thing
and the result was violent. Racism is growing very strong in this
I meet people all the time who express it more and more. I am talking
the ordinary people, people at work, in bars, on the street, people whose
voices fortunately do not get broadcasted. It's growing more and more all
the time and it's got to stop. The British Government must begin to do
something now before people get hurt.
By the way, I am not a muslim, I am white and I am call myself a christian
(I am definitely not a perfect one, but I try to follow my creed). In my
outlook there are two basic categories of people to start with and they
are good people and bad people and those qualities have absolutely nothing to
with their colour, creed, ethnicity or nationhood. Lets all work together
for peace across the world and on our own and on our neighbours doorstep,
and let's do it now, right now.
All the best

It's obvious that, though some Americans rob banks, America is not a
nation of bank robbers. The same holds true for suicide bombing and the
Arab world. That being given, I see your reaction to Mr Kilroy-Silk's
comments as poorly considered, at best. Your reaction is more a
"thin-skinned whining" than any deeply considered response. You insist
that others see you as you see yourselves, and that is stupid. All the
western world saw arabs celebrating the September 11 attacks, and was
disgusted by that. Since then, organizations such as yours have done
godawfully little to enlighten westerners to the viewpoints of the Arab
world. Some of you keep a low profile, some of you spew anti-western
vitriol, and most of you complain about insults to your honor. You
would be better off working toward westerners' understanding than the
huffing and puffing you're doing now, when the to-be-expected comments
reach your notice. Think with your heads, not with your egos.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE TO HEAR THE TRUTH YOU CAN ALL GO BACK TO YOUR LOVING COUNTRIES.
IF YOUR COUNTRIES ARE SO GREAT, WHY DO YOU ALL TRY TO COME TO LIVE IN UK?

As a white British Citizen, I would like to make clear my disgust at
Robert Kilroy-Silk's comments in the Sunday Express.
It would not be right for the Sunday Express to call me part of the 'PC
brigade' (although they would probably try), but Kilroy-Silk's comments
are clearly a written attack on all Arabs - whether he meant it to read
as such or not.
I can only hope that the vast majority of Arabs and Muslims in a wider
context to not see these as being the views of a majority of white
British citizens - they certainly do not reflect my views or all of the
people (from a wide cross section of society), that I have spoken to.
I would certainly be absolutely ashamed if the BBC were to allow him to
continue with his program in the future.

|Dr. M. Harding
|Mr Kilroy Silk has a right in Britain to express his criticism regardless of what people think about them. The Muslim Council should not respond to issues that do not relate to Islam. Arabs is not synonymous with Islam. Islam is the beautiful doctrine brought to mankind by the Prophet Mohammed and before him by all the Prophets from Abraham. What goes on in Arab countries now is not recognizable as the same doctrine and it is an insult to Islam to equate Arab with Islam. The Saudi and other Arab clerics teach hatred and malice alien to the tpeaceful teachings of Islam and no less an eminent muslim scholar as Dr. Zaki Badawi has expressed these views. I lived in an Arab country Saudi Arabia for over a decade and read the Quoran to improve my understanding and there was no similarfity between what I read and what was happenoing around me. There is no Arab country that merits the description of a Muslim country- most are feudal dictatorships. Terrorism has no place or basis in Islam and what America does or does not do is not the basis of the doctrine of Islam and should stop being an excuse. The rights of women are enshrined in Islam and safeguarded probably more than any other religion but the Arab perception of women is not Islamic and the women who complain are locked up or punished.|
Most of the world are not against Islam and in most African countries members of same family belong to both Christian and muslim religion. I have many more Muslim than Christian relatives and we live and share together and attend family functions together and respect each other. The only people who are against Islam are the muslims who commit attrocities in the name of Islam possibly 100,000 out of over 1 billion but the criticism is that they get applause from the majority and the majority are not vocal enough in their condemnation. Arabs is not a term synonymous with Islam as Italian is not synonymous with cathiolics and everytime they criticise Italy the Italians dont complain aboiut criticism of Catholics. Debate is a good thing and the richness and strength of Islam should be presented in a cogent not offensive manner. As a christian who is well read in Islam I get intensely angry when people do terrible things and have the audacity to claim that they are doing it in the name of Islam which is a religion of peace, love and humanity.
The debate must continue in an open, frank, respectful and honest manner

Robert Kilroy-Silk,a lone voice from the majority of people in this country has dared to break a taboo created by the liberal minded do-gooding minority! He had the temerity to speak the truth.Even taken out of context this article is an accurate descrption of Arabs and Muslims in general. We used to enjoy free speech in this country, a concept completly alien in most Arab and Muslim countries. However, this freedom of speech has been insideously eroded and undermined by by the do-gooding minority.Mr Kilroy-Silk is likely to be punished for speaking the truth and he will therefore become a martyr. It is my view that this world would be a nicer, safer place without Islam, after all, hate filled fundermentalism is a product of religeon and in particular,Islam.
