To whom it may concern,

Well done for distancing your religion from violence. Organizing various campaigns to grab media attention to periodically assert this position would be excellent.
Terrorism is the worst thing ever to happen to Islam. It places you all under suspicion, and therefore under pressure. Don't think for a moment that the rest of us in England ( at least anyone who knows even one Muslim) don't sympathize with your position.

Dr. Eric Meyer-Cabris van Amelrode, Ph.D.
Dear MCB,

Let me first praise you for the act of courage you took in condemning OPENLY the terrible acts of fear some Muslim fundamentalist are projecting in this world. I hope many imams will follow your example.
We should ALL join in the fight against terror (and I am NOT advocating G.W. Bush, as I do certainly NOT agree with his devastating policy), but such criminal acts will affect ALL of us. If my son were to be a terrorist, I would IMMEDIATELY report him to the authorities and be happy (for him and for us), that he be jailed.
It furthermore undermines the reputation of the Muslim community and could trigger violent reactions of the vast majority of non-Muslims against the Muslim minority. Such reaction would be devastating for the whole of the country.

Best wishes,

01 /04/ 2004
I am delighted that the Council has taken the action to promote Islam as a faith which embraces peace. I remain firmly of the opinion that Muslims in general are in line with this point of view. Extremism in any faith is dangerous and that certainly includes Jews.

As salaamu alaykum

Subhanallh, MashaAllah... well done with your letter sent out to Imams etc and looking forward to your public campaigns with regards to this matter, InshaAllah.

Was salaam

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'd like to draw your attention to the following article: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,482-1048060,00.html
In there, Syaikh Ahmad Yassin was said as "sheikh of hate", "anti-Semitic", and "spiritually dedicated to violence".
Michael Gove seems to be confused on why "Hamas believes that Israel has no right to exist", even though it's clear that it didn't exist just a few decades ago - and it only existed until today through continuous campaign of terror to Palestinian civilians.
This fact seems to have escaped him, so he complained about why the sheikh keep on targeting the invading Jews - I hope someone would be able to remind him that all these trouble would not exist if Israel did not invade Palestine back then in the first place.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Yours sincerely,

01 /04/ 2004
Julie Minns (Mrs)
Dear Sirs

As an active Christian I read with interest your letter. In particular I note your concern about inflammatory newspaper headlines. I share this concern and wanted you to know that I have written too in protest to a newspaper when the headline "Muslims held for Madrid bombing" appeared as I felt it to be misleading and provocative. I will continue support the work of those of you who seek to maintain your faith and its proper values.

Yours sincerely

Dear Sir/Madame

Please excuse this unsolicited e-mail,
Today I read with interest in the BBC on-line News the letter that your Mr Iqbal AKM Sacranie (I apologize if that is not his correct title) issued to all Mosques in Britain.
He is quite correct in stating that it is the media behind a lot of the hype, they have to make things look more serious than they really are. There are good and bad elements in all societies and organisations, and whilst there are such people in your faith, it also follows that their are such people in mine and other peoples faith.
Much of the current unrest can be firmly placed in one place, this being the intransigent stand that Israel has on the Palestinian people. For centuries there has been an uneasy peace in that area of the world (but peace it was) until the influx of Jewish settlers from Europe and America decided to settle in Palestine and claim it as their own.
Until Mr Bush and Mr Blair address this problem then there will always be a breeding ground for terrorists to feed on. Indeed the Jewish state was formed by using terrorism, but memories are very short. Northern Ireland is another example. Religion is just the catalyst not the end product. Troublemakers and Terrorist of all ilk's use a problem to hang their banner from and have no respect for any person's life.
Of course we now have the problem of Iraq to contend with, whilst Saddam did cause suffering to many of his people, the use of Violence was not the answer to the problem. We now see the daily occurrence of Muslim killing Muslim albeit different persuasions of the Muslim Faith, none the less they are still Muslims. We once again see a sledgehammer being used to crack a nut. America and Britain need to look at them selves and ask is what they have done correct and moral. I think they would find the answer very unpalatable.
I applaud the stance that your leader has taken and he is a brave man to do such a thing in this climate, and hope that soon this conflict between mankind is resolved, though I fear worse is yet to come.
For the record, I was baptized a Christian (though do not practice the faith anymore) I am British, 62 years old and married with 2 children, 4 stepchildren and 5 grandchildren. I have no political affiliations and just wish to live my life in peace.
