I have this very moment watched a news report on GMTV concerning the vile hate mail that your organisation has received.

I would like to express my support for you as an ordinary British Citizen. As a white Christian I am often appalled by the acts of my so called kinsfolk. The bigots in the world cannot differentiate between the vile criminals that have perpetrated the atrocity in the USA and ordinary peace loving people of the Islamic Faith. I suggest you ignore these idiots as they have no idea as to what the true meaning of Islam is.

I grew up with many people from many faiths and I have always deeply respected Islam for it's outstanding teachings on peace and tolerance. The idiots who have sent these hateful words to you are as blind to the true meaning of their religion as those who killed so many innocents in the United States.

So many people twist God's word and claim that things were done in his name to further their cause, be them followers of Christianity, Judaism or Islam. There is no blood on God's hands but the hands of some are drenched in the blood of the innocent, they seek to implicate our God and I see this as a blasphemy to all our faiths. I do not see Islam or any other religion as a threat, it is hatred that is the threat to us all and if we have hate in our hearts evil will prevail.

The idiots who have insulted your faith are puerile and ignorant. Treat them with the contempt they deserve.

I have read and heard that hate mail and threats are being made to yourselves and other muslims. This is a sign of the moral decay of our society. It is not possible to judge a people by the acts of a minority and I am deeply saddened how easily racism rears its ugly head. On behalf of my family, I share my concern and hope that no attacks ( physical or emotional ) are made on your people. yours faithfully,

Words fail me as I hear of the abuse your community are having to endure, I am only a small voice, a normal housewife but want to pass my respect to ALL human beings no matter of colour, creed or religion. Respect, love and warmth are extended to you and yours. Only love will heal these wounds, I just wish so many of my fellow human beings could begin to realise this! Take Care of yourselves.

I send my sympathy to all true followers of Islam. I am not religious myself but feel horrified at the thought of even more Racism directed at decent Muslim people. I have always defended all peoples right to follow their own particular faith and know that Islam is a gentle and all encompassing faith. I hope the xenophobic madness stops soon

PLEASE TELL ME wherever Muslims are around the world there is nothing but discrimination, murder, mass murder, torture and general conflicts can you tell me why it is such a hateful religion BECAUSE as a Christian I am lost for words?
