Warm regards
I have just finished watching the BBC programme 'Dont panic I'm Islamic' and felt the need to make contact.
I am a white non-muslim who felt moved and ashamed by the physical/verbal attacks on Muslims in Britain and the misunderstandings and ignorance that seem to prevail in the British Media. I am proud of the diversity that Islam brings to our community and the positive exchange of ideas that becomes possible as a result.
I relate strongly to the political views of the contributors to the documentary. Human tragedy and suffering should be treated as such regardless of which community is enduring its effects.
I just want to wish you a positive path to your aims and objectives so that Britain can move forward.

Hi,
Just wanted to even the balance out a little with the email that was read out on this programme this evening by yourselves.
Without going in to too much detail..not everyone in the UK feels the same way as the individual who wrote those words of hatred, he's in the minority. I'm sure you're fully aware of that..but i thought i'd email anyway. :o)
Take care

Hello,
I am a 27 year old white British citizen. I am not a Muslim. I watched a program last night on the 12th June 2005 about religious hatred and racism. I had to send you this e-mail to let you know not all white British people are racist...I am sure you already know this, it's just that I was utterly disgusted with what I saw and heard. I was totally ashamed to be British and cannot beleive Human beings, whatever race or religion can be that awful to each other.
A man from the MCB read out some e-mails that you guys have received in the past telling you to get out the county etc, (some real horrible e-mails).....please, please try to rise above these racist pigs and ignore their uneducated, naive, comments. People like this need to be banished, it is not freedom of speech, it is victimisation and uncalled for...
I saw pictures of Muslims being beaten up, just because of their beliefs, surely this is terrorism, just as elderly people not being able to walk the streets at nights, because of WHITE thugs...this too I see as terrorism and is what the government should be sorting out...not causing more problems by following Bush and hindering the Iraq people rather than helping them! As you can see I hate the fact we went to war against inocent people too!
Anyway, sorry to go on, I just wanted to say you must have had so many horrible e-mails, please add this one to the list of good positive e-mails. Racial integration and diversity of culture and beliefs is what will make this country great!
My children will respect all races and religions.
Peace to us all.

I am a 60 year-old white Christian woman - and, having watched Don't Panic I'm Islamic last night, I am ashamed to call myself British.
I am appalled and disgusted by the treatment meted out to Muslims (especially the young man who was blinded and left with brain damage) by ignorant, ill-educated, badly reared white people of this country who call themselves British. I was brought up to regard everyone - whether rich or poor, black or white, Christian or non-Christian - to be worthy of equal respect. Before retiring I worked alongside many Muslims; I have been treated by doctors of that faith, and my family doctor is a lovely young man who happens to be a Muslim. I have met with nothing but respect from them all. It is a great pity that respect and tolerance are no longer instilled in the younger generation and in my opinion Don't Panic I'm Islamic should be required viewing in schools.
On a lighter note, may I offer my heartiest congratulations to Mr Iqbal Sacranie on his knighthood.
Best regards

Sirs, Whilst I may, or may not, condone the attacks by my Countrymen on Muslims, I cannot take sides either way, as I do not know if there was provocation on either side.
All that aside, I feel that you should all know, that you are now viewed as invaders, hell bent on destroying this Country, its religion, and people, by any means available to you. This is not a multicultural land, never has been, nor ever will be. The streets will run with blood before that happens I can assure you. It is already happening in many small ways throughout the land, ignore it at your peril!
Take no notice of the politicians, they do not voice the opinions of the people, but we will be heard in more ways than just voices. This is because you have successfully "gagged" the good people of England, so that we do not have 'free speech, free thinking' or even 'free expression' any more. Does this apply to you as well? I think not.
Of course Londoners applaud the various, so called hatred bills, now going/gone through Parliament. That is because the _true _Londoners no longer live there! They have been ousted by foreigners, so theres no joy there then.
As a final note, unless you reign in the militants, things will never change, and you will possibly be viewed as terrorists forever! There is only one leader in this Country of mine, and that is, my Sovereign Lady, Queen Elizabeth the Second, to whom all her subjects owe allegiance, and that includes you!.
Give this letter just a little thought, thats all I ask. Yours,
