I have just listened to the news with horror at the attacks on your people.

I am a christian and this kind of behaviour and bigotry is unacceptable. I offer my prayers and friendship to all muslims and hope that these attacks and insults stop.

I know many of your people will also be waiting for news of loved ones in New York and pray that they will be comforted by God.

I am sorry for what has been done and hope you can forgive the ingnorance and anger of these people

Miss M. Herson.

I do hope I have contacted the right organisation, I saw one of your representatives on GMTV this morning,(13th sept) and was horrified to hear that some of the Muslim community are facing threats due to the catastrophic terrorism that has occurred in America.

Any right minded person is going to realise that a "sick" minority shown on the television do not represent the whole of the Muslim community, I sincerely hope that no more innocent people get hurt because of this terrible act.

I do hope this e-mail has given you hope that not everyone in England is as small-minded as the people who have stated these threats, and that as a nation united,I believe (or like to hope) that everyone is of the same train of thought that our hearts & prayers go out to those who have suffered these terrible atrocities, and not looking to apportion blame onto people because of their cultural and national roots

Like most people I wish to express my horror at the events in America and offer my condolences to all who have been affected. However, I would also like to say how shocked I am to read some of the comments sent to your organisation.

I was born and brought up in the UK and am of English origin, I am also an Atheist. However, I have a great love of mankind and other cultures and have travelled widely including Pakistan, Syria and Iran. I can only say that in all Muslim countries I have received nothing but the warmest hospitality, I have never felt threatened and have been the recipient of great kindness.

My (poor) understanding of Islam is that such deeds are just as horrific to Muslims as to those of other faiths. Perhaps people should also considered that events in Northern Ireland are also carried out in the name of Christianity but have nothing to do with how 'real' Christians feel.

Please, please do not associate all Muslims with such events. The way to reduce such incidents is for all people of the world to have more understanding and respect of each others cultures and faith.

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW NOT ALL PEOPLE IN BRITAIN ARE IGNORANT TO THE PLIGHT OF THE MUSLIM PEOPLE. THE MAJORITY OF US UNDERSTAND THAT NOT ALL MUSLIMS CAN BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR TUESDAYS ATTACK. I ALSO FEEL AMERICA MUST TOTALLY RE-THINK FOREIGN POLICY TOWARDS THE MIDDLE EAST.
