Just a quick note to say that not everyone blames Muslims collectively for the events in the US. Any individuals in this country that are using these events as an excuse to verbally or physically abuse Muslims are small-minded bigots with a racist predisposition. Their actions can only amplify the shock and hurt felt around the world. Please believe that the attitude shown by these people does not represent the feelings of all non-Muslims living in the UK. Some of us are smart enough to distinguish between a small group of fanatics and millions of others.

think what the MCB did over their statement shows the compassion of Islam and what Islam really means. I thankyou for your efforts and determination to show to the world the real understanding of Islam. Regarding those vile emails sent to your message board, I can only look in disgust and think that these indivduals are sick minded and have no morlas, yet on the otherside it does give me happiness when other people in this country are standing by us and encouraging and supporting us, when as Muslims we are being judged and attacked verbally and physically in some cases.

I would like to express my sorrow and sincere regret for the hate mail, vitriol and violence that you and ordinary muslims throughout the UK and the world are now being subjected to. I do not apologise for these people because they are beyond contempt but I do wish to express my solidarity.

I know that the terrible crime committed on the United States is as abhorrent to muslims as it is to everyone else but certain elements of our society are bent on revenge. This world is in its second millennia, regardless of the calendar you wish to use and it is truly sickening to see this kind of hatred directed towards any individual, let alone true followers of Islam. I personally was touched news coverage of muslim leaders in this country close to tears expressing the feelings of their immediate community the same as the rest of us in this country, regardless of faith or creed.

They must have known, even as they spoke, that many twisted people thoughout the UK would seize the chance to denounce them and point the finger of blame at them. Their courage is a lesson to us all.

The vast majority of people in this country understand that the UK's muslims are part of our whole social structure and their collective contribution to society is appreciated. However, it is ignorance and fear that drives hatred and the peoples of this country and the world must unite to conquer that ignorance, thereby reducing the fear. Islam has a major role to play just as true believers of all faiths and I wish you well.

Blessings and peace be upon you.

The reaction of British Muslims through your organisation fills me with hope that escalation of violence can be avoided. I know very little of Islam, so when I started some research on the www to find out more, I found the attached documents. As you will understand on reading the attachment, this causes some worry. In the eyes of British Muslims, what status does SHEIKH OSAMA BIN LADEN and this Shariah organisation have, and to what extent are his teachings and interpretations taken by muslims in the UK.
