I just wanted to offer the UK and global peace-loving Muslim community my support in this time of tension.

I will do my best to ensure that peace-loving Muslims living in the West are not targeted in retaliation.

Praying for peace and justice for all.

Please feel free to forward this onto Muslim organisations in other countries

As a British non-Muslim I am heartened to see your outright condemnation of the WTC terrorism on your web site.

While I know you can't be held responsible for every British Muslim's comments, I was dismayed by the comments of the young man representing Muslim Youth on C4 news last night. He seemed to support this act of terror, objected to being called British, (while enjoying the benefits of British Citizenship), and indicated that he and other Muslim youths would regard any attack on Bin Laden (provided he is the guilty party of course) as an act of war on them.

Together with the anti-American, almost gloating comments of several Muslim members of last nights Question Time audience, this undoes all your efforts in one fell swoop and can only lead to more bad feeling between our different communities.

Any attack/abuse on any Muslim in this country, because of the WTC affair is wholly unjustified and abhorrent, but the sort of inflammatory and insensitive comments referred to above will only serve to provoke them.

I trust you will take these comments in the constructive and respectful way they are given and look forward to your reply.

I am so sorry that you have received abusive emails from people who are just as fanatical as the WCT terrorists. I am a white, Christian UK citizen, but not once have I thought of the Muslim people as evil. Every race and religion has a minority of fanatics who turn evil, and I want you to know that I support the rational Muslim people. My sympathies to you for all those insults you have received. I know that the majority of Muslim people are shocked and disgusted at the US tragedy. Once again, I am so sorry that you are being treated this way.

I am writing to express my sorrow that British muslims have felt threatened by a possible backlash after this terrible incident in America.I hope that the leaders of our country will steer a moderate course at this present time when the emotion of anger is running high. Too often the extremists of society are given a voice in the media becuase they are by nature more aggressive in their emotional expression.

Is there any way that this event could provide an opportunity for the moderate people of Britain to come together to express their unity, their respect for the sanctitiy of life and their desire for peace in Britain in the 21st century? I for one would like this to happen.

I am writing to say how horrified I was to hear of the abusive emails you have been receiving in the wake of the WTC attack.

I can only say I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive the morons who have allowed the mob mentality take over their civilised minds. At the same time we all need to try to forgive those idiots we saw celebrating this terrible event.

Lets please everyone remember that the vast majority of people in the world are peace loving and tolerant and try not to let a few hate filled maniacs ruin all our lives.
