Dr Mark Forshaw

As-salaam alaikum,

As a non-Muslim Englishman, please allow me to express my sorrow when hearing that Islamic peoples in Britain and worldwide have been subjected to violence and threats following the atrocities which occurred in America this week.

I hope that I speak for many people when I say that I know that Islam does not allow for such violence that we have seen. I know that Muslims are a peaceloving people. I utterly condemn any person who chooses to make threats towards innocent British Muslims and those worldwide.

I hope that this email can help to soften the blow of those cruel emails which I have heard, from the news, you have received.

The world has many good people, Muslim and non-Muslim, and good will triumph over evil, in all its forms. Love, peace and co-operation will make the world a better place.

I have just had a look at your web page containing recent e-mails , and pretty hateful stuff it is , to a certain extent i can understand why these messages are coming in, (i don`t know any Muslims and i know very little about the Muslim faith, therein probably lies the answer to all this hate coming your way), you don`t seem to be doing yourselves any favours with some of the comments i have heard from various spokesmen/women on the tv and radio.

PLEASE try and try again to project the peaceable aspects of Islam (which i know MUST exist) to the `public` at large,

a step towards greater consultation, cooperation and co-ordination on Muslim affairs in the U.K................................really?

Read with interest your messages of condolences for families of Tuesday's atrocities. All crocodile tears I'm afraid. It is obvious that Muslims are desperate to distance themselves from the actions of their brothers presumably because things have gone too far and they see the shadow of the long arm of justice.

The truth is, all Muslims are culpable, all. Therefore targets selected by the West need not be discriminating or clear, it is basically 'open season'.

I think people in the civilised world would have more respect for Muslims if they at least came clean about their thoughts on Tuesday and openly celebrated as they undoubtedly do behind the doors of their homes and mosques.

Really, expressing false regrets will not wash now. A religion which monotonously shouts 'death to..' 'kill' and desires holy wars every single day of the week has wearied and sickened the non-muslims in this country. What is coming now you have only brought upon yourselves, but please please please no more false tears.

Nobody

Senders Incident Report : I parked up my car to go towards some shops. On my way I came across three asians dressed in ragged order just like that bin laden idiot. In fact the reason that name came to mind was not because of the recent attrocities muslims have caused to our greatest friends in New York and the free world but because they were chanting his name in admiration.

Obviously disgusted in this I shook my head in horror only to recieve a torrent of abuse and a confrontation to which threatening behaviour ensued. I was pushed but was not harmed, not physically anyway.

However it has left me feeling appalled that a group of people claiming to be, so called peacefull could do such a thing and it comes at a time when so many muslims are glad at the recent misfortunes of so many innocent people.

Its a shame that so many of you have managed to settle in this great country taking for granted its spirit of charity and community and wealth only to condemn actions taken by our Government. I am speaking in response to necessary actions taken by the west against cowardly fanatics in the middle east, cowards who have no respect to human life but because they are muslim you support them and state that America and Britain are terrorists for doing only what is necessary and good for the future of all mankind.

Is it because the qu-ran says so? Well maybe its time you looked deeper inside yourselves, deeper than religion but to the spirit of being a human being. Maybe you should rip out a few pages of the qu-ran and replace them with text which states that if man does wrong he is wrong and shouldn\'t be defended just because he is muslim.

Generations of people in this country have given their lives in the name of freedom and this makes me proud to be British, proud because through their heroism I am free.

I have heard the shocking news on the radio that British muslims have been the target of abuse and threats. I have also read reports that at least two of the terrorists responsible for the abominable acts on Tuesday were drinking large amounts of alcohol on Friday afternoon.

I am white, Anglo Saxon, baptised Church of England (although atheist these days) but I know that this behaviour is contrary to the Islamic faith. Therefore, to brand these terrorists 'Muslim fundamentalists' would seem to be erroneous.

I send this message simply to let you know that there are some educated people out here who condemn all acts of discrimination, especially those carried out in ignorance and thoughtlessness.

My good wishes (insignificant though they are) go to you and your fellow men and women.
