Hi
I understand that you have received some abusive e-mail since Tuesday's terrible events... for which as an indiginous Englishman, I apologise... for there is no excuse for it.

However, I believe that much of this uneducated reaction is based on fear and ignorance... and I believe that Muslims themselves could do a lot to alleviate this situation.

If as has been stated, attacks on innocents and indeed suicide itself... is against the fundamental teaching of Islam... and if as is often publicized... Muslims do not have an agenda to inflict their religious views on others... then I believe it would do a great deal of good... if the world authority... be it an individual, or an International Council... publicly denounced these terrorists... not following an horrendous event, such as occured in New York... but as a matter of course...

If you have a proceedure... similar to that used in the Roman Catholic church.. i.e. excommunication... in which non-conformists are isolated and denied access to their faith.... Then surely this would be the most powerful weapon to use against them... and prevent the world from possibly destrying itself...

I would be interested in your reaction to this suggestion.

I have just been listening to the radio programme Sunday. On it was a piece concerning the prejudice and abuse suffered by British Muslim since the tradegy in America.

I send a message to you and the Muslims you represent from me, as a follower of the Buddha.

May these difficult times allow you to grow in your patience, understanding and love. May your response to those that lack these virtues, show the kindness and restraint that religion can inspire.

May all blessings be yours.

After hearing about the disgusting hate mail that you have received, I would like to express my support and concern about the way ordinary muslims are being blamed by some people for the actions of extremists who may or may not have portrayed themselves as muslims. The outrage last Tuesday must be looked at in the context of all terrorist actions and I sincerely hope that the US Govornment does not commit revenge attacks that would involve innocent people in the Middle East.

For the record, I am a white English agnostic and I believe that the vast majority of people in the UK share similar views.

I was listening to the BBC this morning, and heard your President (I think?) express his shock at the hate mail you have received since the atrocity in America on Tuesday.

I was moved to write to you - I\'ve never done anything like this before - to say how much that interview shocked me. Surely people realise that what happened on Tuesday had nothing to do with religion? The killers didn\'t care what religion the passengers on those planes belonged to, they didn\'t care what religion the people of Manhattan belonged to - they murdered them anyway.

I am British, white-skinned, and I\'m not a muslim. But I am quite sure that all of us in Britain were shocked and horrified at this attack on the people of Britain, of America, of the world. I wanted to write, just to let you know, that I am sure most people believe that we must all now stand up for law, for tolerance, and respect for one another, and that is how we recognise the terrorists. I feel sorrow and sympathy for all my friends in America, and today I just wanted to say that I think I now also understand how this horror has a special pain for you. I am sorry for that.

Assalamualaikum, The hate mails sent to MCB are just appauling. Muslims world over have declared unequivocally that we DO NOT support this incident. We feel the same grief over the incident as does everybody else. And I don't think we have to produce some kind of a license to prove that we are telling the truth. We are saddened by this incident whether someone believes it or not. As for some Palestinians celebrating, a lot of hindu extremist organisations in India & around the world are also 'internally' celebrating, because they know that some muslim countries will be bombed & muslims will be killed. And also, whenever the USA bombed Iraq & killed several innocent people almost all Americans supported the incident. Israel was even wishing that a war broke out so that all Iraqis would be wiped out. What about all this?
