Dear Friends I am appalled that you are being targetted and receiving verbal abuse from some of the people of this country. I would like to assure you that I believe and know, without doubt, that you are good people, that the message of the Quran is one of peace and respect for life. The Muslims, as a group, are NOT involved in the terrible happening in USA. We have a different way to approach God, but we believe in and love and serve ONE God. Be assured that I will always speak in your defence. It is terrorists we ae after and there are terrorists in all religious groups. I pray that there will not be war: that all may be settled without more violence. May God bless you all.

This is just a short note to say that I regret these difficult times for the UK's Moslem community; I would like to extend a hand of friendship from myself and various other Christian friends. We wish peace and goodwill to you all.

I am not a Muslim, but I am horrified at some of the messages on your website, and reports I have heard of Muslims being attacked. If we are to prevent future hatred and atrocities, we all need to show mutual understanding and respect. I know that the majority of Muslims in Britain and around the world are as shocked and disgusted by Tuesday's attacks as anyone else. I hope that you realise that most Christians, and other non-Muslims, are equally sickened by the violence and threats against Muslims.

Sallam, I am a 23 year old British Christian and have recently returned from a gap year teaching English in Peshawar, Pakistan. Having witnessed the warmth, hospitality and the respectful nature of Islamic culture, I would like to take this opportunity to express my total disgust not just of the terrorist fanatics of Sept.11 but also those ignorant fascist fools in this country who have already come out of the woodwork to blame and victimise decent British Muslims. Creating rifts and exacerbating existing tensions within British society is exactly what these terrorists want to achieve. Ironically groups such as the BNP and NF must have been rubbing their hands with glee as they watched those horrifying news reports knowing that here was an opportunity to justify their sick ideology and acts of violence. Similarly the Isreali leadership will no-doubt be willing to exploit the situation to their ends. By allowing these things to happen means only victory for those committed to hate. We must all stand together in condemanation of terror but also in our universal beliefs in peace, justice and ONE God.

As a Briton who is not a Muslim, I just wanted to say how appalled I am at the threats and attacks that some British Muslims are currently enduring. I am an atheist and humanist, and as such, I have no great liking for Islam or any other religion, but I fully support your right to practice your religion unmolested. I know that most British Muslims, like most British people in general, are good and decent people who would not condone what happened in America last week. I hope that some sense will shortly prevail, and that these attacks on you will cease.
