This is simply a brief message of support from a fellow UK citizen (as it happens, white and non-muslim). I join you in thoroughly condemning the evil attacks in the US last Tuesday. Thankyou for your leaders' measured and sensitive contributions to radio and television debates about those appalling events last week. I urge you to continue to take this balanced approach; deploring violence and terrorism while reminding our leaders and community of the search for justice of Palestinian and other peoples who have been hurt by US foreign policy. I pray for the safety of all members of the muslim community at this tense time.

I realise that, given recent events, the Muslim population of Great Britain and, indeed, the Western world, has been vilified and subjected to a hate campaign by certain parties, and I wish to let you know that not all people are like that.

I am a Christian, and although I know very few members of the Muslim community, I do know that you are not all bad people. In fact, I am sure that most Muslims are as sickened as anybody else as to this heinous crime, nd feel sad for the loss of life and bereavement that has happened.

Please keep your faith, and believe that not everyone is evil, and not everyone is bad. In that stoic English tradition, please 'Keep your chins up' in this dark and terrible hour.

Thank you for listening,

To the Muslim community of Great Britain and the rest of the world. Whoever is responsible for last Tuesday's evil acts there can be no excuse for directing aggression at any specific community. Anyone targeting the Muslim community with physical, verbal or written aggression is a cause of shame for our whole country.

To fight hate with hate can only lead to misery for the innocent.

Please accept my best wishes during this difficult time.

Mr G Bentley

On your website you have expressed your great shock and horror of last Tuesdays incidents on behalf of the Muslim poeple of the UK. You have also urged Muslims to report any abuse they might wrongly suffer as an result of this, showing your determination not to let people who enhance problems like this prosper.

I therefore would like to ask you what action you will people taking against the Muslims outside Finsbury Park Mosque, the Birmingham Mosque and other locations who have openly been supporting these attrocities and making fun of the thousands who have so recently died.

I suggest that if you want to kurb the sort of anti-Muslim feeling you are asking for members to report you must also police your own people, and be seen to do so publicy. I think at least an apology for such outburst is called for.

I have listened with mounting horror to the news and I am appalled that your organisation and the people of Islam resident in the UK have been subjected to such horrific abuse since Tuesday's attack on the World Trade Centre in New York. I am so sorry that the Muslim community has been threatened in this way.
