I was horrified to hear of the hate mail being received by members of the Muslim communities throughout the country in the aftermath of thedreadful events in the Uni ted States. I would like to express my sincere sympathies to anyone of the Muslim Faith who have suffered any form of abuse. The great majority of us realise that it is only those fanatical represe ntatives of any religion, whose backgrounds lead them to inflict such suffering on the innocent and that those who hold true to the beliefs and teachings of our various holy scriptures look upon our fellow man with kindness and compassion. I feel that the world has overlooked the fact that amongst those so tragically killed were peoples of all nations and beliefs, including your own.

I have read in the newspapers about the attacks in Arizona, USA and Twickenham, UK. I justed wanted you to know that not every American is blaming all Muslims for the attack on the World Trade Center. Why should the innocents suffer for the actions of a few.

May God and Allah bless us all.

I would like you to know how terribly unjust I feel it is that members of the Muslim community in Britain have been targeted following the tragic events in the US.

I want you to know that you have my support in this difficult time and hope that those who are acting in ignorance will learn to distinguish between the very different parties involved.

As a white woman living in Bradford I am very aware of the tension being created between Muslims and others due to last Tuesday's atrocity. I am also aware that most Muslims do condemn what happened. I was wondering if it would help to hold open services in Mosques around the country where non-Muslims are invited to worship alongside the Muslim communities, to show that we all stand together. I would definitely join in because I want to stand alongside the people who live in my community, mostly Muslims. I am sure people would be willing to observe any requirements for clothing when entering the Mosque.
