Could you please bring the fanatics under control. We
dont need idiots like Al - Muhajrioun representing
Muslims or voicing their opinions. They are repulsive,
obscene and arrogant and do not represent what Islam
is. These fanatics are making it difficult for us
Mulsims to go about our daily business in peace, no
wonder NF and BNP activity is on the increase. These
people represent Islam as much as NF represent the
average Brit or Timothy Mcveigh represents the average
christian. Please bring these idiots under control.

I am a Catholic, and I would like to express my goodwill and admiration
towards the British Muslim community after recent events, most particularly
after the attack on the mosque in Bolton, and many other incidents of
assault and harrassment, including biased representation in the media. The
Muslim response to recent events, in Britain and across the world, has
shown
exemplary reason, moderation and humanity in the face of considerable
provocation. Please accept my assurance that many ordinary Christians and
non-Muslims share my gratitude and admiration.

I just wanted to say that I sincerely hope that there is no backlash
against
the Muslim communuity for what was perpetrated against the innocent victims
of many nationalities and many faiths in New York.
There can be no excuse for what happened. No amount of misdirected
righteous
indignation, no feeling of injustice, no feeling that it was payment in the
same coin for implicit American involvement in other wrongs elsewhere can
justify a terrorist act on such a scale. Death and terror are the same if
it
is in a Palestinian refugee camp, an Israeli nightclub, a Tutsi village or
the Worldd Trade Centre.
But anyone who blames an entire religion and its followers for the
despicable acts of a few cannot hold their heads up in civilised society. I
am not a religious person (I suspect this fact alone sets us apart), but I
have long admired the sentiment of John Donne's words,
"...no man is an island, entire of itself;
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less,
as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were:
any man's death diminishes me,
for I am involved in mankind,
and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
it tolls for thee."
[John Donne (1572-1631)]
I hope that we all survive the consequences of what happened on 11th
September, and the forces that led to those terrible events. I fear the
worst, but I sincerely hope that somehow, we can come out of this with
greater understanding and tolerance.

I saw some of the awful messages that you have been receiving and just wanted to email you and offer my voice of support for the Muslim community.
I am appalled by the hate mail sent to you by insensitive, unthinking morons. I am not a Muslim, I am a white Christian, and I also support ordinary, peaceful Muslims. The idiots that emailed you in hate are a disgrace to Britain.
To any of the racists who may be reading you website, I would like to say - stop and think. How can all Muslims be terrorists? Is every Christian in the IRA?
The peace of the world is more fragile now than it has been for many decades. Let us not make the situation worse.
My wishes for peace to all of my brothers and sisters in Islam.
British Muslims and visitors to your site may wish to add their names online to the book of condolence, which is available from the American Embassy's website:

I'm so glad to have this opportunity to pass on to you my praise for the young man who spoke on the BBC NEWS at around 1830 last evening (18 Sept.). He spoke for all right-minded people, whatever their colour, creed, denomination, nationality. My husband and I were very distressed 2 days ago to hear the 'Sheikh' , said to be representing the North London Mosque, he was volatile and seemed to be encouraging Muslims (especially the young) to violence. There were awful photographs in The Times of young Muslims shouting their call to violence. Unrepresentative - yes. The 'Sheikhs views were extreme and uneducated - I so totally agree with your representative that this man should be given no media time whatsoever. If he is seen and heard people believe he is representing Muslims all over our country which I know is not the case. Your young man (so sorry not to know his name) was intelligent, knowledgeable and was an admirable representative of the Council.
God be with us all in these awful times and guide our governments and those who have to make decisions affecting all our lives.
