Thank you for Mr. Sacranie's article today. I believe most people in Britain realise that the atrocity in New York is not the work of Moslems in the UK, be they of British nationality or visitors. I pray that the violent attacks on Moslems in this country ceases immediately. Unfortuneately there will be kneejerk reactions wherever one is in the world, but I like to think that the ordinary British people's sense of fairness and readiness to welcome other cultures to live alongside us will prevail.

I've looked at some of the press releases on your website and appreciate the good sense they preach. I wiil certainly recommend to my Christian friends with internet access to visit your website.

This is my personal view and should not be regarded as the view of the company whose EMail facilities I have used to send you this message.

God be with you.

>I don't approve of blaming an entire group for a few bad apples but I do think that it would be best for the world if you sorted out your own terrorists rather than allow any reactions to be seen as against Islam rather than against terrorism. Also I think it might help if you all volunteered to pledge an oath of allegience to this country in which you have chosen to live.

I write as a Christian working in south-east London. I am horrified by the appalling attack on New York and no less horrified by the misguided and equally evil attacks that are taking place against Muslims.

Please understand that these people do not represent non Muslims but are equally stupid fanatics.

Whatever our differences in belief we both worship one Creator who created us as one family of people endowed with His gifts of love and fellowship.

Be sure that God is great and that His love for all of His people will prevail.

Yours in love and fellowship,

I am a white, Church of England, British national who applauds the statement made by Yousuf Bhailok. I, and I'm sure many other British citizens of all faiths and religions, am very concerned regarding the hysterical wave of violence from fanatical groups. These fanatics (from all nationalities) may share a common religeon, language or upbringing but are not supported by their innocent and peaceful communities. Indeed they cause untold damage to their communities through hatred and distrust. The media coverage can also tend to inflame those more easily lead. Violence cannot be condoned and justice and violence are nearly always incompatible.

I believe that the persons who committed the terrorist act in the United States, and the groups behind them, are animals and should be brought to justice. Our inalienable right in Britain (and I'm sure the United States) is that people are innocent until proven guilty. I would like to see justice pursued by the entire world community and once the individual or group has been identified they answer to an international court. If it is a Muslim that is convicted, let justice be meted out by your religeous leaders as this would stop terrorist groups gaining more supporters for the 'acts of the West'. If military action is required against groups then this should be carried out in a planned and agreed manner and with the support of the entire global community .

I do not understand your faith and know little about your beliefs but have always been taught to live and let live and to respect the views of others.

I write this in the hope that the views of the 'normal' man in the street are recognised.

As a Christian Minister, formerly a University teacher, I watch with great concern as some in the Western world show themselves unable to recognise the essentially peacable nature of Islam. Prejudicial attacks on British Muslims are entirely without justification. I and all the Christians I know deplore such attacks.

Assalaam Oleikum, peace be upon you all.
