I was saddened and dismayed to read some of the hate mail sent to your website from which I presume are Christian English. I have been totally appalled by the events of September 11th in USA and the death of so many ordinary people. We are all potential victims of terrorism, as we are all non responsible for the actions of our Governments/Leaders. We cannot hold the majority of normal Muslims accountable for the mindless madness of the minority of so called Muslims. I do not know what the next few weeks/months/years will bring, but I just hope and pray, that some miracle will happen to prevent many many casualties whatever their religion, race or beliefs.

Having seen yet another programme on Islam on TV, I would like to give you an outsiders opinion. Unfortunately, whenever there are Muslim women in an audience, it seems that we can confidently expect at least one of them to raise her voice in defence of the "million dead babies in Iraq". Of course, no-one would deny that this a tragedy but it seems to be Muslim women's ONLY concern (outside of Israel, of course!) Muslim men in an audience appear always on the defensive, admitting no fault whatsoever. In my opinion, the only person who has given Islam any credibility lately, is a lady who admitted that the majority of Muslim nations make her ashamed and that it needed reform. This is the first time I have heard Islam criticized by one of your own, and it went a long way to reassuring me that it is possible to remain an individual within your faith! Muslim opinion appears to be pretty uniform and is, therefore, pretty scary to the outsider and not a little wearisome! Your faithful come across less as humble, gentle, god-fearing people, and more as strident political broadcasters. Perhaps this is a good place to begin reform. Best wishes,

hello i am a white 33 yr old male ,married 2 kids 9 n 7. i am teaching my children all people are the same.they know that the strikes in the us were not in the name of any god. but i worrie that muslims fear for there safety, all the people i know do not blame brittish muslims and fear that brit muslims will hate whites and the racail tensions between us will continue. i thinka rally should be made where all races meet together and show true respect for each other. my one worry is tho why muslims dont say they are british.when if born here they are no longer pakistani or arabic but british. i do think if muslims say they are british as well as muslim then alot of tension would subside. i want my kids 2 grow up knowin all races are equal in any gods eyes i hope u reply

How does Bush/Blair really believe they can combat terrorism without first sorting the problems with Israel. It will never work without sorting out this fundamental problem.

It occured to me that it would show muslim solidarity with anti terrorist views and be good PR that this is not a religious conflict if the UK and US concentrated all their troops of Muslim faith into a special strike force to lead whatever offensive takes place against the alleged muslim terrorists. What do you think?
