I am proud of our multi-cultural society in the UK
and regard ethnic Asians - Muslim or otherwise - as my friends, and,
perhaps more importantly, as much British as I am.
The Muslim Council of Britain must surely understand that the action being
taken in Afghanistan by the USA and its allies is not directed at the
civilian population, and you will be aware that all civilised people,
Muslim or otherwise, are concerned about the Afghan people. So please
don\'t make this a matter of religion - if you are British then support
our action against terrorist organisations.
Thank you for reading this

Just to assure you of my continuing support. I am against the US military action and so very, very disappointed in my government for it's action and my fellow British people for their inertia. I have nothing but respect for the UK Muslim leaders, who I have heard interviewed, for their calm, patient responses to often ignorant interviewing.
I have written to Radio 4 and will send a letter to one of the broadsheets today.
You have a very hard job ahead and I wish you luck.

Dear Sirs
I have read various comments and statements made by your organization and
have just read the statement made by MCB re the TERRORIST criminal attacks
in USA Let us be quite clear about one thing
As you state the above are not acceptable-but then neither is your stand
point to the vast majority of people,to condemn the action in Afghanistan,
or to wage and type of action against terrorists, no matter who or where
they are.
Further while one can respect the religious views of individuals-I believe
very much that organization such as yours have a duty, to also be loyal to
the country in which you live and which you are a citizen of.
I noted that in fact the protests and commendation of the crime sin USA
were muted compared to that by organizations in UK to the actions now being
taken, not only by USA and UK,but supported by many other nations
When will you be condemning the actions of extreme followers, such as in
the Finsbury park mosque. And further do something about the people and
supporters there ?
May i remind you, the people of Afghanistan have been suffering for over 20
years, they are oppressed by the Taliban and the Bin Laden groups-who have
become almost one in the same. The people did not ask Bin Laden and his
criminal gang to stay
If by these actions we can bring down such an evil alliance-for that is
what it is-than all power to us
The lslam i have studied is one of peace but also of justice(while that
final justice may be gods)he gave us the means with to achieve it now
So What do you propose-, I suspect DO nothing-appease and negotiate-that
can only be done with those who share our values-not those who twist and
turn them to meet their own ends, to fulfill their ego and self belief and
arrogance.
So let us hear more support from organizations such as yours.
If do not wish to-well we are still a democratic free country-you have the
possibility to leave and join with those who live in a society more to
your liking
But I doubt you will be given the same freedom
With freedom comes responsibility, with rights come duties
I suggest it is time MCB etc looked to theirs.

>Hi,
Having read some of the e-mails you have been sent since September 11th,
I would just like to say that I am sickened by the racist response of so
many people.
I extend my sympathy to all Muslims in Britain and abroad, and to all
victims of war, terrorism, racism and cruelty - regardless of the colour
of their skin or their faith.
To everyone sending abuse to this website, I would ask you to think long
and hard about what you are feeling and what you are saying. We all live
under the same sky, and whether you believe that one god, many gods or
even no god watches over us; you must realise that no religion on earth
condones murder or violence. That includes Christianity, and by abusing
people while ostensibly upholding "Christian" values you are not being
true to your faith.
It is especially at times like these that we must put aside hatred and
try to understand and help one another, thinking of the victims in
America and in Afghanistan and victims the world over.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Dear Sirs,
As-salmualikum,
Although it give me a great pleasure to find out that
such a council is working for the benefits of the muslims people
in UK, it also deeply ashames me to find out that inccocent civilians are
and will be murdered in Afghanistan and we will just watch.
I am absolutely against and condemn the terror attacks in USA on Sept
11,however I also condemn the agression of USA and its allies to murder
innocent civilians in Afghanistan. How does it justify to feed with one
hand and kill with the other. How does it justify to force people out of
their homes,be the cause of it and at the same time drop food to the same
people to show compassion.
How can the muslims in Britain now support the innocent muslim
civilians in Afghanistan through charities when the allies are bombing the
place. Please provide me with a solution. Its great to stand by the Prime
Minister to support and fight terrorism, which I support, but why do you
not provide us with a solution to feed the hungry Afghan children when the
Bombing takes place.
