Dear sir or madam,
I have just visited your web site and I must tell you that you have set my
mind
at rest with your calls for patience, understanding and justice.
I am not a Muslim myself but I share many of your values, since we all
follow
the same God. I fear a division between the Muslim and Christian world and,
like you, I shall be praying for peace and understanding between our
religions,
aswell as more restraint from the British and American governments in these
trying times.
Thank you for promulgating such balanced opinions and advice.

Recent events have shown us how low some of our fellow men may sink. If there is one lesson to be learnt from all this sadness it must be tolerance towards people, no matter what their skin colour, religion or beliefs. I was as saddened by the hate male that has been sent to you, as I was by the attacks on innocent people in America. It is this natural assumption that if you are a Muslim, you must therefore be some kind of terrorist, that demonstrates all that is wrong with the world today.
People of all races, believe that their ethnic group is right, no matter what they do and all other ethnic groups are wrong, no matter what they do. The truth is that we all have good and bad within us. Each of us is capable of great good and also great evil. Death threats, whether they are directed towards the people of Afghanistan, the people of America or Muslims within Britain are abhorrent. Dialogue between people must be the answer, not Fatwahs or bombing raids. I do not believe that America is right in all that it does, purely because they are a Caucasian race like me. On the same basis, we have seen a spokesperson for Osama Bin Laden all but admit their responsibility for the American attacks, this must make them and their supporters guilty of inhuman views. The decree by Muslim leaders in Pakistan, that good Muslims must kill on sight all British and American subjects does nothing towards the cause of anyone seeking a peaceful and tolerant world.
I can only hope that you do not fall into the hate filled trap that has caught so many people of all religions, and condemn violence from all sides, including Muslim countries.

Dear all,
At this terrible time, we often seem to polarise ourselves into us and them. People of all nationalities and religions were killed on September 11th, by a group of people claiming to be Muslim, but I cannot believe this anymore than I believe that all Catholics are evil because of the activities of the IRA.
Is it not time that we started to hold inter-faith services, so that all can come together and understand the differences between our different religions. We all worship one God after all - Is it too much to think that we might all be worshipping the same one, just under a different name.
People of the Islamic faith, I have no grievance against you or your religion. Great Britain has always prided itself on the individual's freedom to worship as they see fit. If we move away from that, we are all finished.
May God grant peace on all of us, and enable us to see and understand the other's viewpoint.
Love and understanding

I am astonished to read in todays newspapers that the Moslem Council of
Great
Britain is asking Moslems to peacefully demonstrate against the justified
attacks now taking place in Afghanistan.
Would you note that this would be utter folly and would certainly alienate
the vast majority of British People, who so far have given Moslems the
benefit
of the doubt with regard to their support for bin Ladens terrorist attacks
on
America.
Please think again Moslem Council of Great Britain,as the sight of
Moslems
protesting against this just War,on the streets of our Cities, would be
intolerable and would damage the Moslem Community for ever .
Moslems in Great Britain are now entering the most dangerous phase and I
hope their leaders loyalty to this country will not be found wanting.

There have been assertions by young Muslim men that they will go to
Afghanistan to `fight` if there were attacks by `the west` on Afghanistan.
I take they have all gone now.(?)
Good.
